MDOT to host grand opening of Mexicantown Bagley Avenue Pedestrian Bridge and Plaza on May 5th at 1pm
The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) is hosting the grand opening of the Bagley Avenue Pedestrian Bridge and Plaza, a vital link in the Mexicantown community and the latest milestone in the I-75 Gateway Project.
The event will include a ribbon-cutting, community art unveiling and parade across the new pedestrian bridge. There also will be a Cinco de Mayo festival, organized by the Southwest Detroit Business Association and the Detroit Consulate of Mexico, to salute 200 years of Mexican independence.
