M C Lyte for Literacy Day at the Detroit Main Library

Come out and join us at the Detroit Public Library to celebrate International Literacy Day on September 8th with special guest and hip-hop pioneer MC Lyte!
MC Lyte, the original B-Girl, and current media maven will join us to discuss ways teens can inspire and motivate themselves to achieve their goals on the path to success. Her book entitled, Just My Take, focuses on the improvement of the lives of young people. MC Lyte has written poetry and words of inspiration, specifically to inspire teenagers and young ladies from ages 14-22 yrs.
Whenever possible, MC LYTE travels to cities across the US to motivate young people with her own personal and business experiences and her successful media expertise. She is also very active in social projects and several non-profit organizations. We invite you to come out and meet MC LYTE in person, Wednesday, September 8th at the Detroit Public Library's Friends Auditorium at 6:30 p.m.
