The Detroit Pistons are looking for their hardest working, loudest, most energetic, die-hard fans to comprise the team’s brand new spirit section, “The Pistons Power Plant.” Tryouts to fill the 50-seat section will be held on Wednesday, October 20 beginning at 6 p.m at The Palace of Auburn Hills.
“The Pistons Power Plant” will be a special section in the 100-level of The Palace designated to get their most hard-core fans cheering for the team at every home game creating a huge home court advantage with their spirit and energy. Fans that make the team will be given a free ticket to ALL 41 of the Pistons’ home contests.
The tryouts will be a three-part process. First, individually, fans will have a one minute opportunity to show creativity in cheering, dancing, energy and appearance (Pistons gear is a plus). Second, fans will be brought together into groups of 10 and will come up with a cheer that they will perform. Finally, all fans making it to the finals will be seated in a section in the arena and given the chance to work together in a group showing their spirit.
Candidates should enter through the West Atrium and will be directed to the registration area. The Pistons ask that fans only try out if they will be able to commit to attending ALL 41 home games. A complete schedule of Pistons games and a pre-registration form can be found online at www.pistons.com. Walk-ups the day of the tryouts will be welcome, however fans are strongly advised to pre-register.
