See the two wheels? That's the new Heelys Hx2 line! |
So tell me, who does not like Heelys? I remember when Heelys first came out. I would see kids in the mall spinning by, looking all cute and cool and doing tricks and spins. I even bought my son a pair after he begged me about a thousand times. But, I can truly say that I never gave it a second thought for myself - until now.
Heelys has come out with a new line called Hx2, which provides fun for kids of all ages, including kids at heart! What makes the Hx2 different from other Heelys shoes is instead of one large wheel, the Hx2 has two smaller, removable wheels in each shoe. Not only is it easier to maintain balance, but wearers of the Hx2 do not require as much leg strength to lift their toes to skate. The Hx2 can be worn by kids as young as 4 years old. And as the child gains more balance, the second wheel can be removed like the training wheel on a bike.
But, here's the kicker moms! In December of 2010, the Hx2 debuted in sizes up to a size women's 9, so now moms can have the same fun as the kids! Heelys sent me and my son complementary pairs to test out. My son was sent the youth Chazz in black trimmed in white. And I was sent the adult pink and white Chazz shoes. The shoes are VERY fashionable and you all know how much I like fashion.
Now I owe an apology to the Heelys company for taking so long to write this review. With the new video games my son received for the holidays, the bad weather in Detroit, attending CES in Vegas and my real job, I had very limited time or opportunity to try out my Hx2 Heelys with my son. But we finally made some time and these shoes are totally rad! Now I was not about to try out skating tricks at my age, but the two wheels did make balancing a lot easier. The only thing I had to get used to with the shoe was walking on the slight platform since the bottom of the shoe is raised to allow for the skating mechanism.
Hx2 allows athletes of all ages and skill levels (including us moms) to walk, run and transition to a roll at any moment.

Disclosure: I was sent two complementary pair of Heelys for me and my son to try-out and express my unbias opinion. I was not compensated for this review.
