In the convivial atmosphere at Flood's Bar & Grill, diners savor traditional soul food while sipping signature cocktails as lights lower to live music six nights a week. Seafood stars in myriad signature entrees, including the catfish filet ($14) served fried, Cajun, or broiled and paired with soul fries or corn bread. Chefs fire up the grill to char chicken, shrimp, and bell peppers ($14) and a rack of barbecued ribs ($16) infused with smoky sweetness. On the shrimp and wings plate ($15), crustaceans slips into beer-batter jackets to croon an old blues number as wings decked out in buffalo or barbecue sauce doo-wop and finger-snap. Meals end on a sweet note with a dish of peach cobbler a la mode ($5), served cooler than an open-air public house on the Matterhorn, or a selection of tasty cocktails and wines served by the glass, bottle, or half-bottle.
Brass accents and exposed brick lend the bar a bluesy feel. Tuesday– Sunday, live music strums and wails at 9:30 p.m.; all diners should plan to hit a two-drink minimum during shows, grazing the late-night menu for noshes from 11 p.m. until 1:30 am.
