Rosh Hashanah hip hop style...
When my son was younger, he could watch videos for days. I am sure most parents just grin and bear it when they have to watch their kids' favorite videos over and over again. But there was one video that both my son and I loved to watch everyday. It was called "Elmo's World: Happy Holidays" and it was a fun and funky video that taught children about holiday traditions and the multicultural celebrations of Christmas, Chanukah, and Kwanzaa.
As we become more of a global economy, it becomes more important to have at least an awareness of the traditions of other cultures. I remember watching that holiday Elmo video, with all the cool colors and fun music, and thinking that it was a great way to teach kids and adults about cultures and traditions in a way where everyone can learn and have fun.
Well today I saw a video that made me think back to when I was watching that fun Elmo video with my son.
The Jewish New Year begins on the evening of September 28th and a fun, hip hop music video called "Soul Bigger" is available on youtube to help everyone learn more about Rosh Hashanah. The whole video is very "Glee" inspired. Check it out...

Wasn't that fun? The creators of “Soul Bigger” also offer Beginners Services for the Jewish New Year – visit their website for locations and more information: http://www.njop.org/High_Holiday_Beginners_Services_2011.pdf.
