DSO offers exclusive pricing to Detroiters
Beginning Monday, October 17, 2011, the Detroit Symphony Orchestra (DSO) will offer an exclusive ticket price for Detroit residents for the first time in its history. The Detroit Rush Initiative offers Detroiters single tickets to any classical or jazz concert at Orchestra Hall for just $20. Patrons can begin reserving seats in any section excluding the box level up to two weeks before a performance. Each resident may buy two tickets per concert. A valid photo ID with a Detroit address is all that is required.
The Detroit Rush Initiative joins HD Webcasts (“Live from Orchestra Hall”) and the new Neighborhood Residency Initiative as the first of their kind among major American orchestras.
“As the DSO extends its reach as a community-supported orchestra to six metro Detroit neighborhood residencies, we’re celebrating Southeast Michigan’s treasured cultural landmark, our home at majestic Orchestra Hall in the Max M. Fisher Music Center,” said Kareem George, DSO managing director of community programs. “We’re playing our part in Detroit’s renaissance by recognizing our closest neighbors and bolstering the growing sense of pride that emanates from Midtown and the city at large.”
Later this year, the DSO will re-launch its wildly popular 37/11 ticketing program for young professionals, offering an annual membership at $37 and tickets to each Orchestra Hall concert thereafter at just $11. Membership includes invitations to exclusive events and more.
Patrons can reserve Detroit Rush tickets by calling (313) 576-5111 or in person at the Max M. Fisher Music Center box office at 3711 Woodward Ave.
New box office hours are:
-Monday, Tuesday and Friday: 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
-Wednesday and Thursday: 12-7 p.m.
-Saturday: 1-5 p.m.
-And two hours before each concert.
Enjoy!
