I have always loved watching Top Chef on Bravo. There is just something about that show that makes good TV out of watching talented people prepare great looking food. Well now Top Chef has inspired a new line of frozen entrees by one of my favorite companies - Healthy Choice.
Healthy Choice products are the ones that I turn too when I need to eat a quick healthy meal while I am working. That is why I was very happy when The Motherhood asked me if I would try out the new Healthy Choice line of Top Chef Café Steamers.
Last week, I received two Healthy Choice Top Chef Inspired Café Steamers to review - the Grilled Chicken Marinara with Parmesan meal and a Grilled Vegetables Mediterranean with Rice meal.
The meals are a breeze to prepare. The unique steaming technology separates the sauce from the rest of the entrée to steam the meal in the microwave, allowing for crisp vegetables, tender meats and al dente pastas. You just have to heat one for 4 minutes on high in the microwave, mix the pasta with the other ingredients and eat up.
The Grilled Chicken Marinara with Parmesan is Chicken tenderloins and whole grain penne and broccoli in a marinara sauce. The meal was totally delicious and I would never know from the taste that I was getting 20 grams of protein and 15 grams of healthy whole grain.
And the Grilled Vegetables Mediterranean with Rice consists of grilled eggplant and vegetables with whole grain rice, barley and olive oil topped off with a mild tomato sauce. And this meal delivers a whopping 30 grams of whole grain, 7 grams of fiber and is only 230 calories.
