I received a tweet today from a friend about how prices are being slashed on some computer tablets. I have seen that myself with tablets like the Motorola Xoom 10.1, which when first released, was priced around $600. But now, I have seen sale prices around $400 both online and in-store. Now that's a bargain that is hard not to talk about in some detail.
The Motorola Xoom 10.1 Wifi only model was $100 off on Target.com website last week |
The Motorola Xoom has some great features for the money. When I researched the Motorola Xoom specs on the Internet, I found a list of great features that any tablet owner would love. And when I went into my local Target and Best Buy to check the tablet out in person, I found a really well made tablet that would be a hit with any family as a holiday gift.
The Motorola Xoom has a brilliant resolution |
Playing games like "Angry Birds" or watching an HD movie will be a great 1080p HD experience on the Motorola Xoom with its 1280x800 resolution. The Motorola Xoom 10.1 has a beautiful 10.1" HD screen and the resolution is stunning. It has a WXGA high definition LCD display with Anti Glare coating and Gorilla Glass. I have never heard of Gorilla Glass, so I did some research and found out that this special glass is made by Corning and is visually stunning, lightweight, and highly damage-resistant. And Gorilla Glass helps protect the screen from everyday wear and tear like some of the mishaps that can happen with our kids.
Flash for days...
If you like to view websites that use lots of Adobe Flash, the Motorola Xoom 10.1, as an Android based tablet, can support this feature without any issues.
The OS gives a PC like web browsing experience...
The Motorola Xoom 10.1 runs the Android 3.0 operating system known as Honeycomb which gives the tablet more features like faster speed and a richer browser that includes tabs, form auto-fill and syncing with Google Chrome bookmarks. I love using the tabs on my browser of my PC and it is cool to know that I can get the same experience on the Motorola Xoom 10.1 tablet.
Cameras for photos and chatting...
The Xoom has both front and rear cameras that both have great resolutions. The Xoom has a 5 MP rear-facing camera with dual LED flash and a 2MP front-facing camera for video chat.
4G and beyond...
When the Motorola Xoom was first released by Verizon, it ran on the 3G network, but this tablet is also 4G upgradable. So now the Motorola Xoom can also run on the Verizon 4G LTE network. So, if you buy this tablet from Verizon with a data plan, you will get your data at blazing speeds on the latest network technology.
Also, if you buy the Motorola Xoom from Verizon, you can use it as a Mobile Hotspot for up to 5 devices if you include that option in your data plan.
Motorola Xoom has double the storage & can be found $100 cheaper than competition |
If you plan to load lots of apps and download movies on your tablet, then you will love that the Motorola Xoom 10.1 has a 32GB hard drive which is twice the data capacity of other tablets in the same price range.
The Motorola Xoom Family Edition is priced at $400. |
Santa Baby, bring everyone a tablet for Christmas...
With the holidays coming up, the Motorola Xoom 10.1 would be the kind of gift that everyone would love to get under their tree :)
