Families Kickstart Summer at Edsel & Eleanor Ford House with 1st of many family-friendly activities at the historic estate
The Edsel & Eleanor Ford House (Ford House), in partnership with WRCJ 90.9 FM, will host Kickstart Your Summer!, a FREE day of performing art and imagination. The event is open to families of all ages and will be held in the Ford House Activities Center.
Guests will experience live entertainment from the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, Livonia Symphony, Oakland University musicians, Cantata Academy Chorale and Grosse Pointe Theater and more.
Children’s activities are being provided by the Detroit Institute of Arts and PuppetArt Theater, and the Ann Arbor Symphony will host an instrument “petting zoo” for children to explore all different ways to make music. In addition, more than 30 arts and educational organizations will be represented at information booths in the Activities Center.
Families will also be able to sample food from Ford House’s Cotswold Café, Dirty Dog Jazz Café and Fresh Farms Market.

This event is the first of many family-friendly events happening at the Ford House this summer. The estate will also host the Detroit Symphony Orchestra on July 13 & 14 for a special summer concert, a new art exhibit, Once Upon a Time: Grimmly Inspired, begins July 28 and the 2nd Annual Fairy Tale Festival happens Aug. 4.
