The Big Bang Theory: Geek Love at its Best...
I don't watch as much television as I used to these days. But one evening, while I was browsing through the channels, I happened upon a show called The Big Bang Theory and I laughed so hard that became an immediate fan.
The Big Bang Theory is love, geek style. The show follows University physicists Leonard and Sheldon who are super brains, yet totally clueless about girls, dating, clothes, parties and having fun. Basically, they don't get life in general. So when a pretty blonde named Penny moves in the apartment across the hall, Penny and Leonard end up in a very complicated (and totally funny) relationship. But Penny ends up breaking things off with Leonard fearing she isn’t as smart as the physics genius.
Is L-O-V-E more complicated when you're super smart?
While I'm no super brain, I love The Big Bang Theory because it is a great mix of logic and sheer lunacy. Over the years, I have met my share of people who are very intellectually intimidating like Leonard and Sheldon. But one thing that I know to be true is, when it comes to love, we all do some crazy things.
The Big Bang Theory was created by Chuck Lorre (Two and a Half Men) and Bill Prady (The Gilmore Girls) and stars Johnny Galecki (Roseanne) and Jim Parsons (Judging Amy) who turn geekdom into Phi Beta fun.
I love The Big Bang Theory because it is big on laughs. And life.
