The auction, which is the first in a pilot program for the district’s Office of Procurement and Logistics, is scheduled to take place online at this link on Biddergy on Thursday, October 18 from 8 a.m. – 8 p.m. BIDS START AT JUST $5!!!!
This auction will consist of furniture, kitchen equipment, school desks, athletic equipment and more.
The district anticipates saving up to $85,000 in moving expenses that would otherwise be incurred if the items were transported to the district’s warehouse for an auction. Traditional methods for closing schools consisted of moving all contents to a central warehouse, and then sorting and auctioning at a later date. This pilot program will minimize handling and warehousing costs as well as provide DPS proceeds from the sale of the contents.
This pilot program is a result of findings by a Strategic Category Team (SCT) focused on inventory management.

Individuals who wish to view the items prior to the auction can do so on Wednesday, October 17 from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. at Southwestern, 6921 W. Fort Street in Detroit. All items can also be viewed and bid online at www.biddergy.com. Individuals who would like to participate in the auction but don’t have access to a computer can call Biddergy.com’s office at (866) 260-1611 and make alternate arrangements. Pickup is Friday.
