Men's clothier "The Shirt Box" will host native Detroiter journalist and author Brian J. O’Connor. O’Connor will sign copies of his most recent book, “The $1,000 Challenge How One Family Slashed Its Budget Without Moving Under a Bridge or Living on Government Cheese,” from 5:30-7:00 p.m., Thursday, November 7, 2013.
Throughout his career as a finance Editor, O’Connor has identified the middle class stretch of incomes and decided to put his own family to the spending test. Determined to cut their monthly living expenses by $1,000, O’Connor tackles his family’s top 10 spending categories with an eye on rooting out big savings. O’Connor addresses the fears and frustrations of controlling your own financial fate.

There is no charge for an autograph or to attend this event.
Brian O'Coonor will speak about the book for 30 minutes beginning at 6:00 pm and then take questions and do signing for the remainder of the time.
Copies of O’Connor’s book will be available for a discounted price of $13, regularly $16. Wine, cheese and other light refreshments will be served. Reservations are NOT required.
