NEVER CRY WOLF (1983) - PART OF THE BIG READ 2014 - Come revisit this Disney classic screened as part of The Big Read Dearborn! The film dramatizes the true story of Farley Mowat, a government researcher sent to the Canadian tundra area to collect evidence of the grievous harm the wolf population was allegedly doing to the caribou herds. Struggling to survive in a difficult environment, he studies the wolves and realizes that the old beliefs about wolves and their supposed threat are almost totally false. (Rated PG, 105 min.)

CAPTAIN PHILLIPS (2013) - In 2009, Somali pirates hijack a U.S. shipping freighter commanded by Captain Richard Phillips (Tom Hanks). When Phillips is taken hostage, authorities scramble for a peaceful resolution. When the ensuing standoff escalates, 145 miles off the Somali coast, both Phillips and his captors will find themselves at the mercy of forces beyond their control. BALTO (1995) - PART OF THE BIG READ 2014 - A half-wolf, half-husky named Balto gets a chance to become a hero when an outbreak of diphtheria threatens the children of Nome, Alaska in the winter of 1925. With few options available, he leads a dog team on a 600-mile trip across the Alaskan wilderness to deliver medical supplies. The film, an underrated animated classic, is based on a true story which inspired the Iditarod dog sled race. (Rated G, 78 min.)

FROZEN (2013) - Anna, a fearless optimist, sets off on an epic journey - teaming up with rugged mountain man Kristoff and his loyal reindeer Sven - to find her sister, Princess Elsa, whose icy powers have trapped the kingdom of Arendelle in eternal winter. THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE (2013) - In this thrilling sequel to The Hunger Games, Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) and fellow tribute Peeta Mellark have barely returned home after winning the 74th Annual Hunger Games when they are whisked away once again by the Capitol.
