The Salvation Army celebrates Grand Opening of Southfield Thrift Store on 2/15 with Roary of the Detroit Lions, FREE gift cards and deals all day!
Join The Salvation Army Southeast Michigan Adult Rehabilitation Center (ARC) as they celebrate the grand opening of a new Southfield thrift store at 9 a.m. on Saturday, February 15, 2014.
The grand opening will feature deals all day, Roary of The Detroit Lions, Gardner-White gift cards (in partnership with Gardner-White), free hot dogs and more.
The new thrift store, which remains located in the Sherwood Square Plaza, will double in size to 30,000 sq. ft. and is located at 26125 Greenfield Road between I-696 and Eleven Mile Road.
“As the largest Salvation Army ARC in the country, we’re thrilled that we are able to open new thrift stores, and, in this case, open a larger thrift store that will serve the metro Detroit community with a greater selection of donated items to purchase,” said Merle Miller, administrator of The Salvation Army Southeast Michigan ARC. “We are forever grateful for the community support we receive from donations and sales that directly fund our adult rehabilitation program.”
The grand opening festivities begin at 9 a.m. with FREE coffee and donuts, hotdogs and a special guest appearance from Roary of the Detroit Lions from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
The store will be open Monday through Saturday 9 a.m. to 10 p.m., and open for donations only on Sundays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Contributions of gently used clothing, accessories, housewares, furniture and toys are accepted at the donation center located in the rear of the building.
Proceeds from all 34 metro Detroit Salvation Army thrift stores benefit The Salvation Army Southeast Michigan Adult Rehabilitation Center’s independently funded, 180-day residential rehabilitation program for adults.
