EDUCATION: Textbook Rentals can save College Students (and their parents) some serious Money

Disclosure: I was compensated for my time to learn more about CampusBookRentals.com.  All opinions are my own.

My son's not a baby anymore...
It feels like only yesterday when my son graduated from kindergarten...

In one month's time, my son will graduate from middle school - and I am trying to figure out where all the time went. It feels like one day he was just a preschooler and now he will be starting high school in the fall.  The time is going so fast that it is hard to believe the photo above of him graduating from Kindergarten was taken 8 years ago - I feel so old.

And now that high school is on the horizon, all I can think about is that I have four years to figure out how to finance my son's college education and research scholarships and grants to help defer some of the cost. Both my sister and I received full ride scholarships to college (much to the delight of my parents) and I am hoping that my son can do the same - pray for us :)

But one thing that a scholarship will not pay for is textbooks. Back in the day, my parents laid out a small fortune each semester for my books and boy did my mom complain about the cost. But now students have more options for acquiring textbooks - including the option to rent them.

Since everyone can rent cars, designer handbags, and even wedding dresses, it makes perfect sense that students can now rent their textbooks. And companies like CampusBookRentals.com are making it easy for students to rent textbooks with perks that include -

-Saving 40-90% off of bookstore prices
-Free shipping both ways
-Ability to highlight in the textbooks
-Flexible renting periods

Watch the video below to find out how renting textbooks work -

CampusBookRentals.com also has a new program called RentBack (www.RentBack.com), which allows students to rent the textbooks they own to other students which could generate two to four times more money compared to what they'd make through buyback options.

So while I begin to research financial options to pay for my son's college education, it is good to know I also have options to pay for my son's college textbooks that can leave a few more dollars in the bank to finance my retirement :)

Enjoy!
