26th Annual Safety Street at the University of Detroit Mercy
Pounds of Snickers, Milky Way, Hershey, and Twix bars will be handed out to brave little goblins and ghouls visiting University of Detroit Mercy for the 26th annual Safety Street. Over 400 neighborhood children from grades K-5th will attend Safety Street this year, dressed in their favorite costumes. UDM students in Halloween attire will distribute candy to the children and also offer free face painting during the event.
The fun and safe “trick or treating” environment will be held on Friday, October 30 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the Student Center Fountain Lounge (Outside – Weather permitting).
Area school children are invited to the FREE event, but it is open to the public as well.

Fraternities, sororities and student organizations participate in the fun evening. The School of Dentistry participates by giving out free toothbrushes, toothpaste and dental floss. The School of Architecture was the first to establish Safety Street for neighborhood children, but the event soon evolved to include the entire UDM community.
Come join in for a spooktacular celebration!
