Applebee’s Thanks Veterans with Free Meals on Veteran’s Day

Veteran’s Day is Wednesday, November 11, and for the eighth straight year, Applebee’s, the nation’s leading casual dining chain will honor those who served our country by hosting them for FREE meals at more than 2,000 of Applebee’s locations nationwide.

This Veterans Day, Applebee’s expects to serve more than one million free meals to veterans and active-duty military personnel, adding to its total of 8.5 million meals served since launching in 2007. Veterans along with those who wish to say thank you can keep an eye on the Applebee’s social channels in early November, where the brand will highlight local organizations serving Veterans and their families every day.

This year veterans and active duty military can choose a dish from the Thank You Meal Menu including Applebee’s signature and favorite items:

§ 7 oz. House Sirloin

§ American Standard All-In Burger

§ Double Crunch Shrimp

§ Three-Cheese Chicken Penne

§ Fiesta Lime Chicken®

§ Chicken Tenders Platter

§ Oriental Chicken Salad

Applebee’s Veteran’s Day Free Meal Terms & Conditions

Guests will need to provide proof of service, which includes: U.S. Uniform Services Identification Card, U.S. Uniform Services Retired Identification Card, Current Leave and Earnings Statement, Veterans Organization Card, photograph in uniform or wearing uniform, DD214, Citation or Commendation.

Offer is valid for dine-in only. Traditional sides are included with free entrees; 2 for $20 appetizers, upgraded side items or extras, beverages, desserts and gratuity are not included. Applebee’s Thank You Meals will be offered during normal business hours on Tuesday, Nov. 11. For more than 35 years, Gleaners Community Food Bank has been “nourishing communities by feeding hungry people.” Last year, Gleaners distributed 45 million pounds of emergency food to over 600 partner soup kitchens, shelters and pantries in Wayne, Oakland, Macomb, Livingston and Monroe counties. Gleaners alleviates hunger by providing the equivalent of 97,344 meals per day to people who otherwise cannot afford the food they need.

Macy's Annual FREE Fireworks Spectacular at Oakland Mall in Troy 11/6 7pm

10th Anniversary of Fireworks Welcoming Santa to Oakland Mall...

On Friday, November 6th, 2015 at 7 p.m. the night sky above Oakland Mall will be lit up by FREE Christmas fireworks. The spectacular fireworks display, sponsored by Macy’s, will welcome in the Christmas season at Oakland Mall.

The celebration will start outside with the fireworks and will be followed by Santa’s parade, led by the Southfield Lathrup Marching Band. Bleachers will be set up on the Chicago Road side of Macy’s and guests should arrive early to get a good seat.

The parade will drop Santa off at Macy’s and continue to march throughout the mall. Macy’s will host in store festivities for the rest of the evening including music and entertainment. Santa will be available to meet with children in the men’s department on the lower level of Macy’s for the rest of the evening.

Oakland Mall will also begin to run the Oakland Mall Express at 7:30 Friday evening. Kids will have an opportunity to take a ride on the train through the magical Christmas Village ($$). Making a special appearance from 7:30pm -9pm are everyone’s favorite Snow Princesses, who will be available for photos ($$).
