An Afternoon with Luvvie Ajayi
Saturday, October 8, 2016
1:00 - 4:00 p.m.
Join the Detroit Public Library for an engaging afternoon with the One ... the ONLY ... Luvvie Ajayi as she discusses her debut book, I'm Judging You, at the Detroit Public Library - Main Library.
Luvvie's new book is a collective of humorous essays that dissect our cultural obsessions and calls out bad behavior in our increasingly digital, connected lives. It passes on lessons and side-eyes on life, social media, culture and fame, addressing those terrible friends we all have to serious discussions of race and media representation. The book even discusses what to do about that fool cousin sharing casket pictures from Grandma's wake on Facebook with a lighthearted, razor sharp wit that creatively paints Luvvie's unique perspective.
A thirteen-year blogging veteran, Luvvie is the voice behind Awesomely Luvvie, a respected humor blog that covers everything pop culture - from TV, movies and technology to travel, race and life's random adventures. With over 500,000 readers a month, the enormously popular blog is a definite go-to source for smart takes on pop culture, social commentary and so much more.
This event is free and open to the public.
