April 9th FREE Drop-In Japanese Art Event includes Demonstrations and Hands-On Activities...
The Birmingham Bloomfield Art Center (BBAC) will host its second annual Japanese Art in the Afternoon, with support from the Japan Business Society of Detroit Foundation, a free, all-ages workshop featuring Japanese-themed art activities and celebration of the annual Cherry Blossom Festival.
The community event will take place Sunday, April 9, 2017 from 1-3:30pm and will include multiple interactive and hands-on art activities and demonstrations, including koto musicians (“koto” is a traditional Japanese stringed instrument), Japanese calligraphy, woodcuts and origami, plus other Japanese-related projects suitable for all ages.
Japanese Art in the Afternoon is free of charge and open to the public.
All ages are welcomed (children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult).
